Specific Food Allergy is a hypoallergenic complete food for cats that uses a select group of ingredients and hydrolyzed proteins to prevent digestive problems.
Some cats have a delicate constitution which renders them vulnerable against potential allergenic ingredients such as complex protein sources or heavy fibres. Specific FDD Food Allergy is a complete dietary food formulated to protect these cats from experiencing any discomfort during and after feeding. By using hydrolysed salmon protein and rice, Specific FDD Food Allergy eliminates the source of most of the allergic components to which these sensitive cats would react. Hydrolysed proteins are proteins that have already been broken down before digestion into its smaller components - amino acids - to alleviate the cats digestive system and ensure a proper absorption of the nutrients. In this case, the hyrolysed protein is salmon, a protein source that is known to be neutral to almost all cats. Combining the process of hydrolysation and the knowledge of salmon as a safe protein source ensures that the protein is easily absorped by the sensitive cats. Furthermore rice has an equal reputation and will not trigger any allergic responses and yet is highly nutritious. Lastly, the skin is strengthened by a complex mix of vitamins (A, E, B), minerals (selenium, zinc) and fish oil to strenghten the first barrier of the immune system and protect the cat from environmental allergens.
